Burns Night 2005

Tuesday Jan 25th - Burns Night special (organised by Farside and sponsored by Arts Council) at the Y Theatre

An evening to commemorate Scottish poet Robert Burns

Preparations before we begin

Jan, who has organised the evening, welcomes us all.

This was after John's pipes entrance. During the evening we had plenty of musical acts, and poetry in the Scots dialect.

The haggis is piped in.  music played by bagpipes player Colin.

The event is international, and the address to the haggis was in English and Russian (thanks Maggie).

Offshoots.  Here you see them with another Chris on guitar.

We get our turn! We get to perform the Scots side to our repertoire!

We were shown some dances with Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.

Then we finished by singing Auld Lang Syne.
